In-house Triple's Competition

In-House Triples Competition

On Monday the 23rd of October; Nick Cummins organized an in-house triples competition after our own league competition was deferred due to the Malaga team trails being held on our green. Nick arranged for eight experience players to be skips, with a further eight experience players acting as seconds and eight new players acting as leads. On Monday morning eight teams played with the four winners going on to contest the cup and the four losers going into the secondary Plate competition. The four winning teams played again on Monday afternoon with Alan Baxter, Ken Croft and Carolyn Hogarth winning along with Tony Grainger, Vic Beckett and Maureen Fewings being the two winning teams. Four teams contested the plate with Nick Cummins, Nita Snaith and Kevin Briody along with Mike Banfield, Terry Brooker and Bob Francis being to two winning teams going on to play in the final of the Plate. Wednesday morning of the 25th was day set aside for the finals, it was a clear bright morning with a pleasant breeze, and the two finals were hotly contested with Alan Baxter, Ken Croft and Carolyn Hogarth winning the final of the cup. Mike Banfield, Terry Brooker and Bob Francis winning the plate.
The competition was a great success for La Posada bowling club, many members of the club helped to make this competition a success, but there are a members who need a special thanks, Sue Croft, Maureen Fewings, Nick and Lin Cummins and Julie Banfield whose contribution the competition would not have been the success it was. We would like to thank all those members who played, who without their time and support this competition would not have been possible. Thanks to everyone Mike Banfield.
