Following its construction in late 2010, the residents formed La Posada Bowls Club, which currently has around 30 members, made up of both residents and non-residents from the surrounding area.

The majority of the members all learned to bowl at La Posada and the club has developed some useful players, good enough to compete in the various open competitions around the coast.

The club also has a team bowling in the Costa del Sol Bowls League, which runs January to December except in the summer months of July and August. This is a chance to play other clubs, mainly situated along the coast.

Then, of course, there are the home fixtures, which bring the other clubs to La Posada, providing a good spectacle for those interested in watching and a pleasant social gathering in the bar afterwards.

It's not all serious stuff though. The club holds three members "roll-up" sessions each week, where players of all standards mix together for games of doubles or triples.

Various other in house competitions are held during the year including our Christmas Jumper Fun Day.

Teams on tour have also visited La Posada, and the club entertains a touring side from the Algarve who stay for five days in the local hotel, which overlooks the bowls green. A series of friendly matches are organised during their stay and they enjoy their visit so much, they're always looking forward to return.
